Happy Birthday BSA !

Monday, February 8, 2010, the Boy Scouts of America turns 100 years old since it was incorporated in Washington, D.C. by William D. Boyce on that day in 1910.

Here are three optional ways that you can celebrate BSA’s
Centennial on that day.

Wear your Scout uniform to school or work.
Show the world that you are proud to be a Scout and that you are a part of the Centennial celebration.

“Manic Monday” Event  -- *Postponed due to snow*
Join Ron Matz of WJZ TV Channel 13 and lots of Scouts and Scout leaders to sing “Manic Monday” in honor of the BSA Centennial. Wear your uniform and meet in front of Jimmy’s which is located at 801 South Broadway in Fells Point. It is a block from the water at Thames Street. Come promptly at 5:45 a.m., do two on air “teases”, and sing the “Manic Monday” song at
6:15 a.m. Afterward, you can stroll down to the water and watch the sun come up at 7 a.m. on the next century of Scouting.

Sunrise Celebration  -  *Postponed due to snow*
For those who prefer an early indoor celebration, meet at 6:30 a.m. in the Baum Auditorium at Harbor Hospital which is located at 3001 South Hanover Street just south of the Hanover Street Bridge in Baltimore. You can enter through the front door or the ER. This half hour gathering will feature a 15 minute professionally produced “Scoundscape” that we will listen to as we watch the sunrise at 7 a.m.

All participants at either the “Manic Monday” event in Fells Point or the Sunrise Celebration will receive a “Sunrise Celebration” pocket patch for attending. You do NOT have to attend both. This is one of the twelve in the Baltimore Area Council’s Centennial patch set. Contact Laurie McIver at 443-573-2503 or LMcIver@baltimorebsa.org to let her know if you are coming to either the “Manic Monday” event or the Sunrise Celebration BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5.
