BSA 100th Anniversary

BSA 2010 Logo

In February 2010, the Boy Scouts of America will celebrate 100 years as an organization. Founded as an outlet to prepare every eligible youth in America to become a participating citizen and leader, BSA has more than fulfilled its mission. Today, as we celebrate our first 100 years, we not on only reflect on our rich history, but lay the foundation for a strong future, as well.

100 Years of Scouting Logo

For 100 years, Scouting has been helping the youth of America find - in themselves and in the world around them - more than they thought possible. A century of building confidence and character is worth celebrating.

Visit the BSA 100 Years of Scouting website for more on the history of BSA and our national celebration.  DO NOT miss out on the best-ever National Jamboree in 2010 in Virginia.  Follow the link below for details.

Scouts, adult leaders, and Scouting alumni: Rediscover Scouting’s impact on America through the Year of Celebration activities and a series of awards that explore core Scouting values.  Earn our 100th Anniversary commemorative patch!  Follow the link below for details.  Program participants will earn recognition for making a difference in their communities due to their
dedication to five of Scouting's core values: Leadership, Character,
Community Service, Achievement, and the Outdoors. Through that
commitment, participants can earn each of five award ribbons to display
from our 100th Anniversary commemorative patch.

A Year of Celebration will take place from September 1, 2009 through
December 31, 2010. The program is open to all Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, adult leaders, and Scouting alumni.  Read the patch
