Red Cross
First Aid and CPR Courses

These courses are being presented by National Pike District Scout leaders who are also Red Cross instructors, and are recognized providers of the courses to Boy Scouts and their leaders. The courses are also open to other adults associated with scouting. In other words, if they aren't registered with BSA, they are still welcome to come to the training. Siblings (ages 11 and up) can sign up if there is room. We welcome Girl Scouts and their leaders too.

If anyone desires Child CPR, Infant CPR, Adult AED or Child AED Training, please let us know a week ahead so we can try to work it in.

If troops have 8 or more people who would like to schedule a course offering at their meeting place, please contact Tammy Cinotto at least a month prior to when the course is desired to coordinate it.

1st Aid/Adult CPR

Fall and Spring courses will be held over 2 evenings, 7 pm to 10 pm on October 20 and 27 and on April 20 and 27 at:

Shepherd of the Glen Lutheran Church
14551 Burntwoods Road, Glenwood MD 21738.

On January 9th, we will be holding a single day Saturday offering for the course, from 8 am to 3 pm.

The cost will be $35. To sign up for the course, contact Tammy Cinotto, cinotto1@verizon.net, 410 489-0096 at least 1 week prior to the course start.

Renewing Your Certification

Once a year you need to renew your CPR certification (once every 3 years for 1st Aid).  We will be available one evening a month for those who want to ‘challenge’ and renew.  You will be expected to pass the multiple-choice exam and to do the skills without prompting.  Walk in between 7 pm and 7:45 pm to start the test.  It should take no more than half an hour. Cost will be $10.  You must bring your certification card and it must not have expired by more than 6 days at the time of the challenge.
